Mechanism of action
Ellelux 100U works by temporarily blocking the transmission of nerve signals to the targeted muscles. The botulinum toxin type A inhibits the release of acetylcholine, a neurotransmitter responsible for muscle contraction. When injected into specific areas, this interruption prevents the muscles from contracting, leading to relaxation and a visible reduction of wrinkles and fine lines. Over time, this process also helps prevent new expression lines from forming. Additionally, by inhibiting the activity of sweat glands, Ellelux 100U effectively reduces excessive perspiration in treated areas.
Product preparation
Before use, Ellelux 100U should be reconstituted with sterile saline solution to activate the lyophilized powder.
- Using aseptic technique, gently inject the recommended amount of saline (usually 2–2.5 mL of 0.9% sodium chloride) into the vial.
- Do not shake vigorously—instead, roll or swirl the vial gently between your fingers until the solution becomes clear and particle-free.
- Once reconstituted, the product should be used immediately or stored in a refrigerator at 2–8°C and used within 24 hours to maintain potency and sterility.
How To Dilute Ellelux 100?
It comes in a vial containing a fine powder containing 100 units of Botulinum toxin type A that needs to be diluted with 0.9% saline.
Note: The powder is very fine, so the vial may look empty. Rest assured that all units are present.

Step-by-Step Dilution Instructions:- Follow the following steps to dilute & reconstitute your toxin.
- Take the vial out of the refrigerator and visually inspect: the vial should be colorless and transparent with a small quantity of white/light yellow powder.
- Draw required Saline (0.9% Sodium Chloride) volume into a syringe and slowly add it to the vial.
- Gently and slowly swirl the vial to mix, do not shake excessively.
- The reconstituted product should be kept in the refrigerator (2-8℃) and used within 24 hours
Note: Manufacturers recommend using the toxin within 24 hours of dilution, but research has shown that the reconstituted product remains stable for up to 5 weeks in the refrigerator (2-8℃).

Post-treatment
After Ellelux 100U injections, patients should avoid touching or massaging the treated area for at least 24 hours to prevent toxin migration. Refrain from lying down, exercising, or applying makeup for 4–6 hours post-procedure. It is also advised to avoid saunas, alcohol, and excessive heat exposure for 1–2 days.
Mild redness, swelling, or tenderness may occur and typically resolves within a few hours to a few days. Cold compresses can be applied to reduce discomfort. Full results generally develop within 3–7 days, with optimal effects visible by the second week after treatment.
